Saturday April 13th

More sightseeing today beginning bright and early at 8:30am.  We drove out to a jade factory and then to the Great Wall.  We had lunch at a big tourist spot that had gifts/souvenirs and a restaurant.  I had Emmie's "chop" made there of the characters for her Chinese name Kang Qi ("healthy start").  On the way in the van we passed the Olympic stadium the Bird's Nest and Water Cube.  At the Great Wall we saw all of these locks.  Shirley said people take the locks there and throw away the key to show their love is forever.  If we knew that in advance it would have been cool to put our daughter's names and ours on a lock  - our forever family : )  In the afternoon we went to Summer Palace.  It's like Central park but image thousands more people there!

  1. Great pictures, so majestic! One day, I will make it to the Great Wall . I love the symbolism of the keys. Love really is forever!
